February 11th- Sweethearts and Spirits (6:30-9:00 PM)- The MPLS Eagles Club
Zipp’s Liquors presents Sweethearts and Spirits, hosted at the MPLS Eagles Club. This liquor, beer and wine tasting event will be chock full of sweets and treats, with all proceeds benefitting the Seward/Longfellow Restorative Justice. Bring your valentine, or meet one there! Tickets are available at Zipp’s, or at the door. $20 for single tickets, $30 for duo tickets.
February 16th - Liquor 101: The Spirits of Learning (6:30-8 PM)- FREE in store
Whether you've just turned 21, or you've been tippling for a good year or two, this session is for you! Patrick will take you on a tour in the life of liquor. From pasture to corking, and everything in between! In this intro class he will be looking at un-aged spirits. So, if you're fan of (or just curious about) how young liquor shapes up before it is put down for its years-long nap, come and get a background education! February 17th- Tasting @ True Thai (6:00-8:00PM)- $15
A guided tasting with the owner and winemaker of DiStefano winery, Mark Newton. Mark will regale you with his tales of winemaking in Washington State. You’ve explored the wonders of our ever popular wine 101 class, so now it’s time to move up a step in your wine knowledge! Our WINE 201 class will focus on varietals. What are the differences between your favorite red and white grapes and why do those differences exist? The best way to discover this is to taste them all side by side. In February, we gave you an appetizer of our educational stylings, now we're back with the meaty entree. Big, bold, rich flavors: that's what an aged spirit brings to the table. Patrick will show you just what a couple years in hibernation can do to a spirit, and why it's totally worth the wait! We'll take a look at how and why liquor is aged, and the various effects something as simple as a barrel can be a game-changer.
